Recently Jungheinrich exclusively showed Logistics Inside Europe several updates within its ETV reach truck series. It concerns both the standard model as well as the 4-way truck ETVQ. We reviewed the trucks in the German factory in Norderstedt.
The ETV-facelift brings a new colour display, a new standard seat with improved damping and an update for the hydraulic controls soloPILOT and multiPILOT. Also a new internal data communication system was implemented to facilitate future systems as intelligent cameras and ultra fast service diagnostics.
With the new and larger colour display Jungheinrich also offers new features like the adjustable load center for safe load control. Very easy when handling deep loads or using additional equipment like telescopic forks. Within the various Assistant systems, like LiftControl, OperationControl, PositionControl and DriveControl, more features are added to increase performances. Of course, the new ETV trucks fit into the modern Jungheinrich styling and have got the ‘Petrol’ colour elements. For all ETV models, the panoramic roof is now available for optimum visibility upwards.
Other major steps forward are to be seen at the ETVQ, the 4-way reach truck which is intended for the handling of long loads in condensed environments. The truck is available in 2 and 2.5-ton capacity and reaches lift heights of up to 10.700 mm. The new ETVQ comes with all the benefits of the ETV-facelift and new specific Q-elements like the new steering and braking system and a very intuitive control.
With a simple push, the truck driver quickly chooses the requested drive mode. This is also possible during the ride. The system automatically offers the possible steering options to keep the ETVQ on a safe track. With its all wheel steering system, the ETVQ reacts smoothly and directly. The wheels have load sensing brakes which will stop the truck safely under all circumstances.
For all ETV-models the additional assistant systems like automatic reversing cameras always keep an eye out, regardless the driving direction. The handy laser tool in the fork tip helps positioning, even if there is already a load on the fork. To complete the package, all ETV and ETVQ models are Li-ion ready and are available with the 2 shifts 1 Charge guarantee.
