Dematic can expand automated logistics systems with SAP technology, like SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) and SAP Logistics Execution System (LES), allowing the performance of existing facilities to be improved significantly. Work processes will be optimized and the risks of errors reduced significantly by integrating existing logistics systems with SAP. An open source environment makes it easy to adjust the IT infrastructure, allowing logistics service providers to upgrade their solutions in a relatively easy way.
“In addition to the customers’ requirements existing automated systems, the individual business processes determine the implementation of SAP solutions. Whether complex quality controls or the use of serial numbers: we have researched deep into the business to decide together with the client what configuration is correct”, said Michael Kreutz Meier, head of SAP Sales Europe at Dematic.
“For that reason, a feasibility study is usually the beginning of an IT modernization project. This study makes clear what integration scenario fits the customers’ question best. Another advantage of IT-modernization is that the logistics systems do not have to be changed from a mechanical point of view. We can modernize virtually any business software technology without having to make changes in existing systems and equipment.”
Dematic has developed SAP templates for various systems that can be individually adjusted depending on the layout of an installation. Users therefore benefit from short development times and optimal service. The solutions are also extensively tested for years in production environments with respect to functionality and security.
