For the first time in its history, SSI Schäfer recently received a large delegation from the European trade press at its head office in Neunkirchen, Germany. The provider of intralogistics solution shared its strategies and vision on current trends. The press was also given a look at the brand new technology centre and a tip of the veil covering various innovations that will be launched later this year, was shrouded. “We want to be the most effective solution provider in the market, offering a unique range of products and solutions”, said CEO Harrie Swinkels. In order to achieve the ambitious goals, further increase speed and improve the service, SSI Schäfer invested approximately 30 million euros in machinery, facilities and processes, among other things.
The organisational structure has also been optimized. Swinkels: “We switched from a sales point of view to an approach per market segment, where we distinguish six market segments: fashion, healthcare & cosmetics, industry, food & beverage, retail & wholesale, and food retail. For each segment there are dedicated IT groups, so that our customers allways talk to the right people and we can quickly and professionally switch at country level; thus close to our customers.”
At the Neunkirchen meeting, SSI Schäfer also showed some innovations, including a very special solution that will be officially introduced later this year at the LogiMAT trade fair in Stuttgart. On the opening day of that fair, that news will also be made public on this site.
